So it’s Day 4 of the Colour It Up Challenge and I’m continuing the trend…I have yet another card done. Yay me!
I’m quite proud of the fact that I have carved out a little time each day to head into my craft studio and spent some solo time getting creative. Even when the rest of the day has been a little bit stormy…yes, I am shaking my head and sighing as I write that.
So…all the more reason to steal away and get creative. Taking time for yourself is a way to love yourself. Take care of yourself. And that made me think of a Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamp that I had been wanting to work with that I hadn’t yet…yep, I told you the list was a long one!
I used papers from a Simple Stories 6×6 pad that I had called Love & Adore which was just perfect for what I wanted to do.
When I started out choosing my colours, I thought I would be colouring in Bessie in pinks, but I quickly realized that the amber yellow shades were going to be a better choice with all the pink background shades.
I stamped her on my favourite Spectrum Noir paper with my Memento Tuxedo Black ink and cut her out with my Your Next Die stitched rectangular die. I’ve been using that a lot this week. Just the way it goes sometimes. I coloured the image with my Spectrum Noir markers.
I layered the papers and then saw the doily above my desk where I store them and thought, “hmmm…” and yep, it worked!
I added a sentiment on the doily-shaped cutout and edged it with Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry and Antique Linen. I also used Antique Linen on the image rectangle.
I added some baker’s twine at the top of the card and a bus charm that I had bought especially for this stamp set. I just love it!
Another day done!
Now I challenge you to make some time for yourself and love yourself a little too!
