A New York State of Mind for the Kraftin’ Kimmie Sentiments Challenge

As a Guest Design Team Member with Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps this month, I wanted to jump into the first challenge that was posted last Saturday and the time just kind of slipped away….

The theme was “Sentiments” and I realized I had the perfect entry!

Getting crafty at Christmas with a few sentiments to share

I had just created this certificate as a gift for my daughter at Christmas — she’s headed to NYC with her Firefighting college class. I created the embellishment elements with my Silhoutte Cameo machine, added clear pockets to include the American money and included sentiments from Kraftin’ Kimmie’s Sweet Summer Sentiments stamp collection. (The one lone quarter in the upper corner is a New York State quarter by the way.)

She gets to be in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in NYC by the way….how cool is that!

Yes, there is a celebration going on!! As Kimmie is saying…Woot, woot! It’s time to start the PARTY!!!

Welcome to Day ONE of the first release of 2018 at Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps!

I’m so excited to be part of the fun as a Guest Design Team Member. And today we’re kickin’ off the party with an amazing winter set by artist, Annie Rodrigue! It’s called STACEY SLAPSHOT!!!

This was the Super Secret stamp set that was included in the Winter Krafty Kard Kit!!! Those who preordered it already have it in their inky little fingers and you’ll get to see their creations today and on release day!

This strong girl stamp set comes with one large main image and FIVE awesome sentiments!!

Here’s my take on this fabulous new stamp…well, I’ve actually played with it 3 times already!!

First up, I started with using the stamp as it was designed, using my Spectrum Noirs to colour it in, adding papers included in the kit from Pink & Main called Frosty and some from BoBunny called Altitude.

I used my Ranger Distress Inks in Mermaid Lagoon, Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers to add colour to the backdrop. I then added the hockey cutout embellishments using my Silhoutte Cameo. I added some Liquid Applique snow from Marvy to which I added some DecoArt Glamour Dust Sprinkle-On Glitter in Crystal. It is just so cool how that snow puffs up when you heat it up. I never stop being amazed by that process! I also added some bling on the skates with my Sakura Gelly Roll pen in #700. I coloured in the hockey stick with my Pigma Micron pens in black and my Zig Millenium pens in Price Blue and Red. This is what the inside looks like.

I adapted Stacey the hockey player to become a ringette player and created a thank you card for a client — the Ontario Ringette Association. I recently worked with them and members from their teams that played on the Canadian National Team at the World Championships and I thought this would make a great thank you card!! I used one of the neat little metal skate embellishments that Kimmie had included in the kit.

Here’s the inside of the card; I used the note circle to replicate the ringette ring.

My third card is a very simple card that I turned into a boy for a birthday card. I think I had the stamp all of 5 hours when I turned this one around in about 20 minutes for a dear little boy’s birthday party that night!

Pretty Kitties for Cold Winter Days

Welcome to Day TWO of the January Peeks at Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps!

Today we have a second stamp set from artist Cheryl Grant and I think you’ll agree…it’s purr-fect! 😉 It’s called PRETTY KITTIES!

This sweet new set features little girl Lexi and a trio of her adorable fluffy friends!!! It features one large main image plus SEVEN coordinating sentiments!

I think this set is just so sweet…it will be great to use for thank you cards, little love notes and for friendship cards. Perfect with Valentine’s Day coming up! That’s what inspired me today. I’m so excited to be a Guest Designer again that I couldn’t help but to surround little Lexi and her friends with lots of hearts and love.

I used one of my Silhouette card dies to cut out the lacy base card with all the beautiful heart detail.

It’s Day 2 of the first launch of 2017 and we have a pretty little miss with her kittens.
