Day 16 of the Kolour It Up Challenge and I’m still going strong!
Today, I decided to use another stamp I haven’t used before: Brigette.
She’s also been on my list to use, but was one of those meant for a card for a girlfriend to remind her to slow down and just relax, look after herself…maybe with a glass of wine in her hand! Seems like I’m always running to get a card done for a very specific reason — a birthday, anniversary, thank you — and I never get around to doing these special cards.
So, this challenge has been wonderful for creating these kinds of cards.
I started by using soft papers that I had in my collection, with an almost “boudoir” feel. I cut several with my Your Next Die stitched rectangular die and layered them over the card base. I also cut out an oval to stamp Brigette onto, using Memento Black Tuxedo ink.
Next, I coloured in Brigette using soft Spectrum Noir and Copic marker colours and edged the oval with Distress Ink in Tea Rose. I pop dotted the oval onto the card.
I used my Gelly Roll pen in Stardust #725 for the tub faucet and on the towel trim.
I used Marvy Liquid Applique to create the bubbles in the tub and sprinkled Glamour Dust on them to add some glitter. I then used my heat embossing tool to get the bubbles to puff up. I love doing that! It’s like magic how that happens.
I added Recollections ribbon on the 3 sides. It has a some glitter to it and just adds some additional sparkle to the card.
I also stamped a sentiment stamp onto a smaller stitched rectangular and edged it in Distress Ink Tea Rose as well. I pop dotted it onto the card.
The final touch was the two bubble embellishments that I glued on above Brigette in the tub. I love how they just finish the card!
Now I have at least one card in my stash that I can send to a friend in need!
Thanks for stopping by!
