Today I worked on my wedding album…yes, I’m a little slow getting it done, lol! But in my defense, I created two others for special people in my life right after the wedding as gifts for them and was so wedding-albumed out, I set mine aside to do “at a later date.” That date is still coming! Slowly!
I got some inspiration because I’m still working on the Colour It Up Challenge at Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps. It’s Day 22 and I wanted to incorporate the Sweet As Can Bee stamp because it’s one of the newer ones as well as something magical so that I could include it in this week’s Magical Challenge. And by doing a layout, I could include it in the monthly Skrappy Challenge of something other than a card! Bam! 3 challenges in one! And I did it! Whoo hoo!
Gotta love it when you can make it work like this.
I had some awesome paper that included bee hives right in the design and the last time I worked with the Sweet As Can Bee stamp set I had forgotten to use it so I wanted to try and use it sometime. I pulled it out to see if I could make it work today. I paired it with a neutral shade that I knew would match the wedding colours I was working with. I also pulled out papers and embellishments that I was working with in the album.
I added the sequins falling from the little pixie’s watering can onto the page — the idea being she is adding her touch and helping to get the tent set up. I definitely believe we had some divine intervention that weekend: the tent was set up on the Thursday and the crew told us we were the only wedding that summer that they were not setting up in the rain and telling the bride, “I’m sure it will stop raining for the wedding.” We were the only weekend wedding that summer that didn’t get rained on! I’m sure my dad had something to do with it, my own guardian angel. We got married on what would have been his 75th birthday.
Wonderful memories captured forever…
Thanks for stopping by!
