A Snowy Scene of a Christmas Tag

Day 2 of the Kolour It Up Challenge over at Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps and so I headed into my krafty studio tonight to stay on track.

What to make…what to make??

I actually have so made ideas for this holiday season and so many gift and card ideas to tackle but my time is limited tonight so I thought I was going to do something simple….and then I went off in another direction! LOL! Sometimes that’s the most fun.

I used the new Holiday Village set and chose a sentiment from the new Holly Jolly Ornaments set and added in snowflakes from the Perky Penguins set. I can see a theme here….certain stamps are going to get used over and over and over again.

I used a Christmas bulb shape that I cut out with my Silhoutte Cameo machine. I then used the new Krafty Basics Stencil from Kraftin’ Kimmie and the new Bubbly Blue Hybrid Ink and inked in some snowbanks.

Then I used my Misti platform to stamp in the scene. After I stamped the sentiment in Northern Pine Memento Ink, I decided to emboss it with Diamond embossing powder to make it sparkle. I used a combination of my Copic and Spectrum Noir markers to colour the scene.

Then I just had to highlight the snowmen, trees, house and fence line with Liquid Applique and Glamour Dust to create the magic. It’s so unfair that the picture just doesn’t do it justice. It sparkles.

I used my Gellyroll Stardust pen to edge the entire bulb as well as the middle of the snowflakes to add a final touch. Well, I guess the Christmas lightbulb ribbon and twine is the final, final touch!

And Day 2 is a wrap!

Getting Crafty with Shaped Cards

Last night, I spent some time in craft studio making some shaped cards for a challenge over on Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps’ site. I’m always sneaking in at the last minute for her challenges!

I ended up making three different cards. They were ideas I had thought about for a little while and decided to finally give them a try.

First up was a cupcake card.

I used my Silhoutte Cameo to cut out the design. The upper part flips up to reveal another message. I used Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Kick Assy Birthday stamp and my Memento Black Tuxedo Ink. I then heat embossed it using clear embossing powder to add some extra sparkle.

To add the look of frosting, I used Marvy’s Liquid Applique snow effects pen and heated it to get the dimensional look. I glued on sequins. On the red cherry top I added Liquid Glass and heated it slightly to get a frosted look.

 

Floral Heart

My next card was a simple floral heart card.

I used my Silhoutte Cameo to cut out the shape from some Recollections rose and white coloured glitter paper.

The sentiment was stamped on vellum using Happy Thoughts from Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps in Memento Black Tuxedo ink. I then used clear embossing powder and heat embossed it to add some additional sheen.

The final touch was tying a bow with white and silver twine and additing white sparkle embellishments from Your Next Stamp.

 

Happy Mermaid & Jellyfish Friends

My third card was a little mermaid in a clam shell.

I used my Silhoutte Cameo to cut out the shell from American Craft Cardstock white paper and Recollections cream glitter cardstock. I edged the white cardstock with Ranger Distress Oxide Ink in Abandoned Coral. I also sponged the sentiment tag from Avery in Abandoned Coral. (Love that sentiment!)

I used a combination of Spectrum Noir and Copic markers to colour Sandy Seawater and her jellyfish friends.

I fussycut Sandy and her friends and foam mounted them the shell for added dimension.
