It’s Day 8 of the Kolour It Up Challenge and it was a very hot humid day here in Ontario….and I was feeling very lazy. But I still wanted to stick with the challenge. After playing with my Buffy Bingewatcher stamp yesterday, I had another idea noodling around in my head and I thought hmmm….
Kraftin’ Kimmie is holding their very first retreat this fall, Nov. 2-4 in London/St. Thomas, ON area and anyone who is already signed up for it is so looking forward to the retreat. For many of us who are part of the amazing community that Kim has created on her Facebook page, Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Krafty Friends, it will be the first time we get to meet in person. Women are travelling from all over the world to attend the retreat! I’ve met some of the design team in the past at a couple of other retreats and events and the amount of laughter and fun that has happened is going to be multiplied by 10!
So today I decided that Buffy was definitely tired of waiting for the retreat to come around…
I used papers from Simple Stories again and layered them with sheets of coloured cardstock that I had on hand. I used my Your Next Die rectangular stitched die to cut the navy blue backdrop for the coloured image to sit on. I foam mounted Buffy after I coloured her in with my Spectrum Noir and Copic markers.
I edged the white card base with Distress Ink in Spun Sugar and the sentiment card in Picked Raspberry.
I used Liquid Applique from Marvy to create the puffed popcorn. You put it on wet and then heat it up with a heat embossing gun to get the liquid to puff up. It’s like magic before your very eyes!
I used my Silhoutte Cameo machine to cut the filmstrip die out, as well as to write out the sentiment using a pink sketch pen. I foam mounted the sentiment as well.
I added the bakers twine at the top and sewed the two floral buttons on, one on top of the other as the final step.
Well, Buffy, only 4 more months!
