It’s that time of year when I’m creating cards to give to dear family and friends.
It becomes a matter of balancing experimenting with new techniques, wanting to create something that is beautiful and eye-catching and that you know they will love with getting it done in time to give it to them BEFORE the holidays!
I’ve been waiting to use my Angelica Angel stamp from Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps from their October 2017 release. I knew I would need some time to play with it and I had run out of time before this. I also knew the special friend that was going to get this card would love her.
I cut out the detailed card base with my Silhoutte Cameo machine. I had previously cut out a bunch of the stamping area medallions using my Cameo as well. This one fit perfectly to the card base area.
I then decided that a shaker card layer in behind the cut out detail would be perfect and I used my Fuse tool to create the clear pocket which I filled with sequins from 28 Lilac Lane that I purchased through 2 Scrapbook Friends in LL312 Not So Heavy Metal. I love the little stars and hearts that are part of the sequin shapes and the golden colours were exactly right for the two tones of metallic paper I had chosen. (I just want to shake the card all day!)
I then stamped the image using my Misti platform and coloured in my angel with my Spectrum Noir markers. I used:
Face: FS1, FS2, FS6 and Copic E04 on her lips
Eyes: GT2 and IG1
Wreath in Hair: JG4, DG3 with green glitter accents using Sakura Gelly Roll#727 and red metallic accents in #719
Bird: DR6, DR7 with white belly done in Sakura Gelly Roll #50 and red metallic accents in #719
Wings: TB1 accented with Sakura Gelly Roll #700 Stardust metallic
Hair: GB1, EB1, EB2, TN1, TN3 and gold metallic accents in Sakura Gelly Roll #703
Dress: GB1, EB2 and gold metallic accents in Sakura Gelly Roll #703
I then edged the medallion and the sentiment with Ranger Distress Ink in Antique Linen.
I used pop dots to raise the medallions.
And my angelic holiday greetings card was done! And my friend loved it.
